50 days after Firstfruits
Harvest festival associated with the giving of the Torah.
Seven complete Sabbaths are counted from Firstfruits, and on the fiftieth day a new grain offering is brought. Shavuot is the harvest feast, and by tradition the day the Torah was given at Sinai.
